Raid Prep Check List

How to Keep Everything On Time (And keep the raid leads from killing you)

A reminder list of things to do before raiding. If you don’t know what any of these are, just ask. Remember that not doing these things in advance means slowing ten other people down. If you are arriving late-ish, remember to log your character out, in advance, in front of the raid’s front door. If you miss the summons at the start of the raid, you need to fly yourself in, and the pulls and boss fights will continue without you while you’re traveling. (Thus, it’s good to find where the raid front doors are in advance.)

Also, inform the leads in advance if you need to leave early–that allows them to structure the group so that you leaving doesn’t cause the group to fall apart an hour before the official raid end-time.

The Checklist

  1. Repair everything to 100%.
  2. Get 3 flasks for your main spec.
  3. Get 3 flasks for your off spec.
  4. Get 20 stat level 125 food for your main spec.
  5. Get 20 stat level 125 food for your off spec.
  6. Get 40 pots for your main spec.
  7. Get 20 pots for your off spec.
  8. Get 20 health potions.
  9. Get 20 rejuvenation potions (the alternative health pots).
  10. (Casters only) get 20 mana pots.
  11. Get 20 bandages.
  12. Get seals of tempered fate (assuming you want them).
  13. Glyph your spec for raiding.
  14. Talent spec for raiding.
  15. Update buttons on action bars when they disappear in case you’re like Leatherbear and don’t notice until the fight starts that all the bear talents are missing and you’re like “oh fuck oh fuck oh now we’re all dead I’ll blame it on the healers kthx baiiiiii!”
  16. Equip your fishing pole and fishing hat.

For most players, each fight is going to use 1 food, 1 prepot, 1 health pot, and either a class pot (rage/agility) or a second health pot (the rejuv pot). Only occasionally will you have an opportunity to bandage yourself, but it can save the raid.
